Prudence Hogue Obituary

Prudence "Prudy" Hogue, 83 of Bellevue, passed away December 24, 2024 at the Bellevue Care Center following a lengthy illness. She was born on April 18, 1941 in West Virginia and was raised in Shelby, OH. She was a graduate of Shelby High School. On August 3, 1957 she married Dwight Hogue and he survives.

Following high school Prudy worked as a secretary several places including Snyder Office Supplies and the Union Bank Computer Center in Fremont. She worked in the family business, Hogue's IGA for many years and in retirement she work at the Meijer's in Sandusky.

Prudy was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Bellevue and enjoyed playing Bridge and reading. Prudy and Dwight enjoyed going on cruises and traveling.

In addition to her husband, Dwight, Prudy is survived by, children, Brent (Tracy) Hogue of Bellevue, Annette Diane (Wayne) Eads of Columbia, SC, & Greg (Tricia) Hogue of Bentonville, AR; six grandchildren, Alicia (Aaron) Schlick, Christopher (Kelsey) Hogue, Anthony (Tawanda) Eads, Dillion (Nichol) Eads, Hayley Hogue & Davis (Madilyn) Hogue; eight great grandchildren with one on the way, and brother Robert Dale (Donna) Hart of Shelby.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harriet (Bender) and Howard Hart.

Memorial Service will be conducted 11 AM, Saturday January 4, 2025 at St Paul United Church of Christ, 428 Kilbourne St, Bellevue, OH 44811. Rev Diane Carter will officiate. The family suggest that memorial contributions in honor of Prudy be made to the church or to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
