Cheryl Carter Obituary

Cheryl Arleen Carter, of Lincoln, California, passed away peacefully with family by her side on February 9, 2025, at the age of 79.

Born on April 27, 1945, to Roy and Dorothy Hall, Cheryl pursued her education at Sacramento Vocational School before embarking on a career as a court reporter at the Sacramento Courthouse. In 1966, she married Thomas Ray Carter, and in 1969, she embraced motherhood-a role that brought her immense joy. Her greatest happiness came from being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her three daughters: Michelle Bewley (Robert), Connie Blackwood (Michael), and Kathy Marquez (Edward). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Brandon and Dillon Bewley, Kayla Bewley Vizcarra, Courtney Blackwood Bodrie, Presley Blackwood, Carter Blackwood, Thomas, Timothy, and Travis Salami, Skie and Sadea Marquez; as well as seven great-grandchildren. Cheryl's family will deeply miss her stories, playing cards, board games, bingo nights, holiday gatherings, and most of all, her laughter, warmth, and unconditional love.

A true animal lover, Cheryl found great joy in caring for her many dogs, horses, and Persian cats over the years.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 12:30 p.m., with visitation and service followed by a reception at East Lawn Memorial Park, 5757 Greenback Lane, Sacramento, CA 95841.
