Kenneth Grady Obituary
06/08/1941 - 01/23/2025
Kenneth Grady died in his Sunset District home on January 23, after a 3-month battle with cancer complications. A Berkeley native, Ken attended School of the Madeline and St. Mary's High School before enlisting in the US Coast Guard. He then attended DVC and San Francisco State, where he earned his California Teaching Credential.
A dedicated teacher, Ken taught shop classes for SFUSD and City College. He also worked as a Technical Training Instructor for Nissan and Volvo. Ken was active in AFT Local 61 and UESF.
Ken had a life-long passion for hot rods and was a member of Elmwood Auto Club, NCCA, Danville Dukes, and Juggers Racing Team. He enjoyed camping and boating with family and friends.
He will be missed by many, especially by Judy, his wife of 53 years, daughter Kathleen, son-in-law Mono, and granddaughter Bronwyn.
A Memorial will take place at 2pm on March 1, 2025 at St. John of God Church, 1290 5th Ave., San Francisco.

Dear Judy, I was reminiscing my photo albums and came upon the pictures of Trinity Lake camping in the 90´s thanks to you Jim Rita Ken brought John my husband back into the fold. I even invited my family. Somehow Ken and John together enlisted in the US coast Guard in 1959. Those were happy times going to Saint Mary´s college High School reunions. My condolences to you and your family.
May Ken Jim and John rest in peace and perpetual light shine on them.

I didn't know Ken well but seeing him at the 9:30 Mass at St. John of God with his wife Judy for many years, I observed a man quick to smile and friendly to all.
