Dana Edward DePrez, 76, of Franklin, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. He was born on May 20, 1948 in Shelbyville, Indiana to Floyd C. and Jacqueline (Griffith) DePrez. He married Shirley June (King) on August 5, 1972. She preceded him in death. Dana is survived by children, Andrew (Laura) DePrez and Alaina (Scott) Green; grandchildren, Callum, Declan and Romilly Green; sisters, Rhonda (Dave) Parker and Tonya (Rod) Brokering; brother-in-law, Jerry (Jan) King; sisters-in-law, Cindy King, Melody (Chuck) Jordan, Susan (Steve) Smith and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in passing by his parents; wife, Shirley and brothers, Darren DePrez and Floyd C. DePrez, Jr. He was a 1966 graduate of Shelbyville High School. He attended Vincennes University, I.U.P.U.I. and the General Motors Institute. Dana worked as an Inspection Engineer at GM Truck & Bus for over thirty years, retiring in 2006. He enjoyed woodworking and cooking. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. Rev. Dan McLaughlin will conduct a Celebration of Dana's life on Monday, October 28th at 1:00 p.m. at Hurricane Community Church, 4592 N. Hurricane Road, Franklin, Indiana 46131 with Visitation on Monday, October 28th from 11:00 a.m. to time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at New Prospect Baptist Cemetery in Hanover, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shirley King DePrez Memorial Scholarship, 398 S. Main Street, Franklin, Indiana 46131.
