Sandra Glenn Parcel
August 5, 1941 - Oct. 9, 2023
KINGSLEY - Sandra Glenn Parcel was born August 5, 1941, to Glenn and Erma (Kinzey) Mills at their family home in Kingsley, Iowa. She passed away October 9, 2023, at her home in Oakland, Nebraska at the age of 82 years.
Sandra met the love of her life, Kendall E. Parcel at a dance in Washta, Iowa in 1957. She graduated from Kingsley High School in 1959. She worked as a phone switchboard operator for a short time.
Sandra and Kendall were married March 1, 1960, in her parents' living room. His service in the Air Force took the couple to France in June 1960. Their first son, Tim was born there March 30, 1961. The family moved to Mt. Home, Idaho in March 1962. Their second son, Jeff was born there September 13, 1962. In 1968, the family moved to Lyons, Nebraska and bought an acreage in the Spring of 1969.
Sandra spent the next 52 years on the acreage, caring for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, livestock and her garden. She enjoyed helping Kendall with the livestock. She took pride in the work she did in her garden. Her greatest love was for her family, and she relished preparing meals for them. She moved to Oakland, Nebraska in the spring of 2021.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kendall; sisters: Shirley, Rita, Betty and Lavonne and brother, Max.
She is survived by her sons, Tim (Heidi) Parcel of Norwalk, IA and Jeff (Lisa) Parcel of Oakland; grandchildren, Jason (Ashley) Parcel of Lyons and Austin (Nicole) Parcel of Oakland; great grandchildren, Kendrick, Adley, Aunali and Payton Parcel.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday, October 13, 2023, 10:30 am at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakland
VISITATION: Thursday, 5-7 pm at Pelan Funeral Services in Oakland
BURIAL: Lyons Cemetery
