Louis Kelley Obituary

Louis "Lou" O'Dell Kelley, 89, of Stevensville, passed away peacefully at home on September 21, 2025, with his daughter by his side.

Known for his humor, kindness, and hardworking spirit, Lou dedicated 39 years to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge with the State of Maryland, rising from Bridge Guard to Head Administrator. A lifelong outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, crabbing, and later in life, watching boats from his home on the creek. He proudly served the Kent Island Fire Department and was an avid Orioles and Ravens fan.

Lou was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 years, Gloria; his parents, Louis and Marie; sisters Thelma Clark and Connie Hurley; and nephew David Kelley. He is survived by his daughter, LuAnn Walker (John); grandchildren Kristin Bennett (Lewis) and Kyle Walker; great-grandchildren Parker, Wade, Walter, Logan, and Willow; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 5-7 p.m. at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home, Chester, MD. Funeral services will follow Friday, September 26, at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Compass Regional Hospice.
