Carol Hierl Obituary

Beloved family matriarch, formerly of Branchburg, 84
Carol Lavix Hierl, 84, of Coventry CT, formerly of Branchburg NJ, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, July 26. Carol was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and most importantly to all, "Mum," our Matriarch. She was born February 20, 1940 in Miner's Mills, Scranton, Pennsylvania. The daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Kernitsky) Lavix.
Mum was an accomplished violinist in her youth, was a member of the "Red Hat Society" and worked as a secretary of a superintendent of schools, and in the mortgage department at a local bank. Mum and Joe "Pop" lived in Branchburg for 48 years before moving to CT to be with their grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Anton "Joe" Hierl, her sister Jeanne Scotty, her son David and his wife and her carer Rose, her son James and his partner Jackie; her 6 grandchildren Karic Hierl, Cassandra Hierl, Aidan Hierl, Luca Hierl, Konnor Boucher, Allie Boucher; and 2 nieces, Diane Kitchen and Lynn Cox.
Friends and Family are welcome to join us from 5 to 8 pm on Wednesday, July 31 at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Rd., Tolland, CT. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held at 11:00 am Thursday August 1 at St. Matthew's Church, 111 Tolland Green, Tolland, CT. A burial will follow at Tolland Cemetery in Tolland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) or St. Jude’s (stjude.org)
