Mae J. Wible, 91, passed away on March 17, 2025, in the company of her loving family. She was a beacon of love, strength, and generosity, touching the lives of everyone she met with her warmth and kindness.
Born on June 22, 1933, in Nebraska to Fern and Claude Shupe, Mae lived a life filled with love, generosity, and unwavering strength. She was the heart of her family, always offering a helping hand, a listening ear, and a comforting embrace. Whether through her home-cooked meals, giving spirit, or endless acts of kindness, she made sure everyone around her felt cherished-as she was in return.
She grew up in
Tracy, CA, and attended Tracy High School, where she was a cheerleader, a softball player, and met the love of her life and husband of 71 years, Alan Wible. Alan and Mae married in 1953 and had three children. She was a devoted mother to Kim, Mark, and Jeff and later a cherished grandmother to Ali and Ashley. Mae was a dedicated grandmother who never missed an opportunity to spoil or show off her granddaughters. Her devotion and generosity never wavered-whether it was a play, a game, a move to college, or graduation, Mae was always there.
Mae was a shining light to everyone she encountered during her many years with the Tracy School District, where she worked as a food service supervisor for 26 years. Following her impactful career, Mae continued her commitment to her community as a well-known volunteer at Tracy Hospital and St. Bernard's Catholic Church. Mae's spirit of generosity never failed, giving time, energy, and funds to every cause she could.
Family gatherings for holidays and any occasion delighted her, especially when they involved baking. Mae found joy in preparing meals and selecting thoughtful gifts to celebrate holidays, birthdays, sacraments, and anniversaries. She had a special talent for choosing the perfect card and made it a priority to attend all birthdays, graduations, showers, and sacraments. Mae also enjoyed traveling with her husband and family but was, most notably, an impressive Keno player, creating many cherished memories during trips to Reno, NV, with Alan and Kim. She will always be remembered as the "Keno Queen."
Mae is survived by her husband Alan, children, Kim and Mark, granddaughters, Ali and Ashley, and her sister, Dorothy. Mae was preceded in death by her son, Jeff, and siblings, Claudia Arnaudo, Raymond Shupe, and Dale Shupe.
Mae found solace and community at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, where her funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 26, at 10:30 AM. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 24, from 5 PM–7 PM at Fry's Memorial Chapel.
