Betty O'Hara Smith Obituary
She was born November 7, 1926 in Marion, Ohio to the late Vernon E. and Marie C. (Lust) Denman.
Betty was employed at River Valley Schools in the cafeteria and Bank One in Marion.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, James Howard Windom 09/14/1950, William O'Hara 12/20/1983 and Samuel Smith 07/03/2004, her sister, Ruth Wilson, her brother, Harold Denman and her grandson, Bryan Windom.
She was a former member of Kirkpatrick Methodist Church and Center Point Church where she loved helping the youth. She loved spending time with her entire family. She enjoyed growing and receiving flowers. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeye Fan She loved watching football, basketball or any sporting event if the Buckeyes weren't on TV. In her younger years she loved traveling cross country with her husband's Bill and later Sam. Betty always found time to take fellow widows to local ice cream socials. One of her greatest thrills, in later life, was taking a Hot Air Ballon ride for her 90th Birthday!
She will be greatly missed by her children, Don (Gael) Windom of Bowling Green, Oh., Cheryl (Ronald) Mann of Indianapolis, In., her seven grandchildren, Samual (Dyan) Windom, William (Amber) Windom, Elizabeth Windom, Julia Windom, Mary Mann, Emily (Jake) Willimas, James (Yuki) Mann, eight great grandchildren Justus, Jace, Jovia, Jaxon, Ginger, Liam, Lorelia, Ayana, her sister, Marjorie "Dolly" Withers of Marion, Oh., and numerous step-children, step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
A Celebration of her Life will be held Friday, November 21, 2025 at Center Point Church, with visitation from 10 – 11am, with the service starting at 11:00am with Pastor Doug Ford officiating. Burial will take place at Friday, November 21, 2025 @ 3pm at Caledonia Cemetery.
