Mila BECK Obituary

BECK, Mila Virginia

88, of Bloomingdale, passed away May 13, 2015. She was a caring, hard working mother who was good provider. Mila not only raised her own four children, she also raised her nieces and nephew. She loved music and dancing. Mila enjoyed life, especially her family and friends. She worked 22 years as a cigar roller at Hav-a-Tampa Cigar in Ybor city. Her nickname was "Hamburger". She later worked as an assistant for Special Needs transportation with the Hillsborough County school system and retired as a custodian at Armwood High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin A. Beck; her parents, William Moody and Vonceil Barrington; her brother and sister, Elvin Hansen and Annette Swope. Mila is survived by her brothers and sister, Andrew Hansen, Eddie Adair, and Louise Gay; her children, Arthur Beck, Maxine Trice, Alvia Nelson, and Christine Whisenhunt; her nieces and nephew, Penny Thayer, Jennie Clark, and Wayne Brundage; 8 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. The family acknowledges LifePath Hospice for the kind, in-home care, for Mila over the past few months. If you would like to help the family thank Hospice, please make a contribution to LifePath Hospice in her name. Mila will be laid to rest at Bloomingdale Cemetery. There will be a graveside service to commemorate her life Wednesday at 11 am.
