Marcia Mix Hazel Obituary

Marcia Jean Mix Hazel, a resident of Ryegate, Montana, passed away on Sept. 3, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 56. A native of Morganza, Louisiana, Marcia was the youngest of four children born on Feb. 12, 1967 to Leo Joseph Mix and Marilyn LeCoQ Mix, both of Pointe Coupee Parish. Marcia is survived by her husband of nearly 40 years, Wade A. Hazel and their four children, Jennifer, Amanda, Krista and Alan. She was called "Aumie" by her ten grandchildren: Kiyana, Alysia, Carly, Sophia, Max, Caidance, Dylann, Shiloh, Kyah and Elorah. Aumie always enjoyed giving her grandkids holiday outfits, homemade snacks, outdoor adventures, art activities, cooking lessons and loving advice. Marcia is survived by her three siblings: Roger A. Mix (Baker, LA), Sharon Mix Brown (Slaughter, LA), and Marjorie "Marty" Mix Dubea (St. Francisville, LA). Marcia embraced life and was thankful for each day. She brought joy and beauty wherever she went. Living with her family throughout the northwest, she called Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana home. Marcia loved camping, hiking, gardening and taking exceptional care of her beloved dogs. She never forgot her Louisiana roots - family and friends will always remember her wonderful Cajun cooking. She will be missed and cherished, her memory a blessing in our lives. Marcia will be interred at St. Ann's Cemetery in Morganza, Louisiana following a mass and visitation by family and friends.
