Simone Veilleux Obituary

WILLIMANTIC

Simone Veilleux, 95, of Willimantic, passed away on November 18, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (Sevigny) Veilleux and wife of the late Ronald Veilleux.

She worked at Electro-Motive (later SEMCO) in Willimantic and Hillside Manor (now Trinity Health) in Hartford. She was a longtime volunteer at the Immaculata Retreat House in Willimantic. Simone was kind and generous and loved to crochet and find yard sale prizes, often gifting the results of her efforts.

She leaves her son, Wayne Veilleux, and her stepchildren; Steve Veilleux, Diane Bajek, Linda Knight, Danny Veilleux, Michael Veilleux, and Carl Veilleux. She also leaves many grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Simone was also predeceased by her brothers, Albert, Robert, and Roland, and sisters, Aline Nye and Lorraine Overturf.

Relatives and friends may visit on Monday, November 25, 5 to 7 p.m. at Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St., Willimantic. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday November 26, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 46 Valley St., Willimantic, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary Church (Corpus Christi) 80 Maple Ave, Willimantic, CT 06226 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
