Jean Allen Obituary

Our beautiful, kind sister Jean Gilbert Allen, passed away in her sleep on November 9, 2025.  She was a resident at The Beehive House, Draper, Utah. A daughter of Albert Gilbert and Johanna Szybrowski Gilbert. Born in Riverton, Utah on March 5, 1935. The 10th child of 14 children.

Growing up on the family farm, she spent many hours working and playing. She attended school at Riverton Elementary. Graduated from Jordan High School, class of 1953. She worked for Valley Bank for many years before retiring. Jean was master at making crafts, specially creating large embroidery pieces. She was also an excellent baker of cakes and cookies.

She is survived by her sisters, Eunice Mc Daniel and Darlene Hirschi.  Also, many, many, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by husband Don Allen, and son Scott Silcox, parents and 12 siblings.

We would sincerely like to thank the Allen family for the care given to Jean. She will be greatly missed, rest well sweet Jean.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 11:30 AM at Crescent Cemetery 11105 So. State St. Sandy, Utah. A visitation will take place prior, from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Broomhead Funeral Home 12600 So. 2200 W. Riverton, Utah.
