Marcia Dianne Little

Born: April 16, 1946 | Died: April 16, 2025

Dianne Little passed peacefully, surrounded by her family, Wednesday April 16, 2025. Her life came full circle as she was born at Erlanger Hospital April 16, 1946 in Chattanooga, TN and passed at Hospice Care Center across from Erlanger on the same date 79 years later. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Dianne was a native of Trion, Georgia and grew up in her parents' family business, D.A. Little General Store, where she and her twin brother had many adventures of which she fondly shared with her family. She attended Welmeyer Grade School Fortune Elementary School, both in Trion, and graduated from LaFayette High School in LaFayette, GA. She later received an executive secretarial certificate from Edmondson College in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Throughout life, Dianne worked for the Hamilton County Board of Education as a secretary, as a teacher/library assistant for Trion City schools, and eventually retired from CVS in Alcoa, Tennessee as a store associate after many years of service.

Dianne was an avid Scrabble champion among her family and friends, loved to sing with her church family, enjoyed teaching children's Bible classes and loved adding pizzazz to life by shopping for clothing and home decor. Her children had often requested her delicious sour cream pound cake. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a lifelong member of the church of Christ and was a member of Maryville Church of Christ since moving to Blount County, Tennessee in 2012.

Dianne is preceded in death by her parents, Deward and Annie Sprayberry Little; and sister-in-law, Mary Jo Little. She is survived by her son, Jeremy (Lee) Sentell of LaFayette, GA; daughters, Wendy (Sheldon) Presley of Greenback, Tennessee and Jennifer (Chris) Abbott of Williamsburg, Virginia; 5 grandchildren, Porter Sentell, Audrey Anne Presley, Zachery Presley, Jadyn Abbott, and Levi Abbott; and one brother Frank (Durand) Little of Paducah, Kentucky.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 22 from 5:00-8:00 at Lane Funeral Home, Rossville, GA and also, Friday, April 25 from 5:00-7:00 at Greenback Church of Christ, Greenback, Tennessee.

There will be a private family graveside service at Howell Cemetery in Trion, Georgia at a later date.
