Miss you so much Poppie. I made your favorite powder sugar cookies for Christmas...I made sure Nonnie got a box and made her some struffoli. Sabrina made Auntie Barbara´s pistachio cake too...you would have loved both...But I also know you´re getting them from my mom and auntie Barbara in heaven. Love you always and forever, and don´t forget, I´ll always be your goddaughter

Wow! I don't live in Connecticut any more, but as a youngster I would get my grinders at Sony's Market. We lived on Boulder drive, so whenever I had some money I'd run to get me a grinder. I miss them today. Nothing can replace the taste of one of Sony's grinders. I pray for the family.

Sonny was always kind to me ...when I first met him he told me we were family as his sister Mary had been married to my grandfather Louis Shabarekh... not everyone would feel that way ... don´t think I have ever heard many unkind words about him.... He will surely be missed.... May his loved ones find solace in warm memories....

So sorry at Sonny's passing. His sister, Helen, was maid of honor at my mother's wedding. The Pezzello family is treasured by all of the Shashas. Deep condolences to Lucy and all the family.

My deepest sympathies and condolences go out to all the Pezzello´s on your loss of Sonny.
For 36+years I´ve so enjoyed Sonny´s Market, tuna mac, and getting "my fix" as Lucy calls it, and I will continue to stop in as long as Sonny´s is there.
So heartbroken on this loss of an icon and kind man.
From an EB customer to long time friend, ICEGRL will miss you dearly Sonny.

As a small child I remember going to 'uncle ' Sonny's and Aunt Lucy's house for holidays. My mom was his niece. Paula, her mom was Mary. Sonny's sister. They were always gracious and giving people. Condolences to the family. God bless .

I express my heartfelt condolences to the Pezzello family. My short time of working with Sonny, Lucy, Mary, Roselba, Jane and Carol Guiletti and Mama was lively and wonderful. It was late 1975 into 1976 when I was crew on the EB lunch van, Monday through Friday, and I manned the table at the credit union. I loved the daily lunch around Lucy and Sonny's table after getting back to the market. What memorable times I had to work with a dedicated and hard working family. Again, my heartfelt condolences go out to the Pezzello family.

I planted a tree in honor of you, Uncle Sonny, as a living symbol of your life. Its roots reflect your beginnings on this earth. Its trunk stands for the journey you embraced and the strength you carried. Its branches reach outward, representing the family and legacy you built. And the falling leaves portray the close of your earthly cycle as you move into eternal life, where you will be welcomed home by all of our waiting loved ones, yet remain with me always in memory, in love, in legacy. Rest peacefully, Uncle Sonny. With love, your niece, Charlene

I will always have great memories of "uncle" Sonny. My mom, Lillian Fountain, loved him dearly and would bring us to his and Aunt Lucy's house on the holidays as kids. He is forever in my heart

Frank and I spent many years together during our teenage days, and in that time, I got to know the Pezzello family very well. Sonny was a wonderful father and husband-hardworking, devoted, and always providing for his family through his years at EB and running Sonny´s Market. I have fond memories of sharing dinners with them, always gathered as a family around the table, with Italian bread and sauce at every meal. My heartfelt condolences to the Pezzello family. Sonny is now at peace with God, reunited with loved ones who went before him, and watching over those he cherished.

Rest In peace my wonderful Uncle Sonny - the last of the Pezzello siblings and the last uncle I had. I love him dearly. No one could make a grinder as great as he did. Always up, always acting silly, great laughs and most of all boundless love for his family were his trade marks. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten. In loving memory of my Uncle Sonny I am having a tree planted to honor his life and legacy.

In loving memory of the man I called my Father in law for 29 years. He was a man of great strength and perseverance with a work ethic like no other. A proud, loving grandfather who always made his presence known. He was supportive even when he didnt want to be, coming to every recital and school function. He loved his afternoon "rest" and watching his "stories." His four sons were his life. I will always admire him the most for his undying love and devotion for his family, especially his wife of 67 years. He always wanted her by his side and was a great protector. Although there are many years of fond memories, the one I will always cherish the most is when he came to dinner, the first words he said were "where´s the salad!" We laugh about it often. I hope they are serving you well up there...at 5:00 O´clock sharp! I will miss you dad. With love, Debi
