Kirk Stout Obituary

Kirk Eugene Stout Sr., 61, of Marion, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 8, 2024. The family will greet friends from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, where a Vigil Service will begin at 1:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2024, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Burial will follow at Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion. Kirk was born on August 17, 1963, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the son of Richard and Myrna (Olivier) Stout. He was a 1982 graduate of Marion High School. On July 7, 1984, Kirk was united in marriage to Marilyn "Tina" Pisch in Cedar Rapids. He worked for the Cedar Rapids School District for 34 years, before his recent retirement. Kirk was a member of the St. Pius X Catholic Church. He loved hunting, trapping, fishing, and was skillful at making fishing rods and lures. Kirk especially enjoyed helping his son with his wildlife business. He was a talented mechanic and loved working on cars. He even played the guitar. Kirk was a patient person and loved to help other people. He had an incredible way of making everyone around him feel loved, whether through his contagious laugh or the way he always showed up for the people he cared about. Above all, he adored his family. He loved playing with his grandchildren and was the best "Papa" around. Kirk was a proud father and wonderful husband and he and Marilyn had just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Kirk is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 40 years, Marilyn Stout of Marion; two sons, Kirk Stout Jr. and Jason (Peyton) Stout, both of Marion; three grandchildren, Wyatt, Saige, and Emersyn; his parents, Richard and Myrna Stout of Lafayette, Colorado; sister, Sherree (Jeff) Carlson of Westminster, Colorado; brothers-and-sisters-in-law, Emil (Sandy) Pisch of Nashport, Ohio, Helen Pisch of Hiawatha, Iowa, Beth Pisch of Hiawatha, Joe (Nancy) Pisch of North Liberty, Iowa, Judy (Bill) Randall of Cedar Rapids, and Brian (Kathryn) Pisch of Vinton, Iowa; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Vera Stout, Alma Olivier, and Marvin Olivier; mother-in-law, Marilyn Pisch; and father-in-law, Emil Pisch. Memorials in Kirk's memory may be directed to the family. Please share a memory of Kirk at www.murdochfuneralhome.com under obituaries.

Kirk and I worked together for many years in B & G and he was cheerful and nice. He would come into the office just to say hello. He will be missed by many.
