Susan Fittro Obituary

On September 5, 2024, Susan (Sam) Marie (Jones) Fittro was taken from us too soon. Sam was survived in life by her mother, Joann (Jody) Jones, her children: Sarah (Fittro) Purdy, Anthony (Tony) Fittro, daughter-in-law Katie, and Jacob (Jake) Fittro. Grandchildren: Skylar Purdy, Michael Purdy, Emily Purdy, Anna Purdy and Lincoln Fittro. Her wiggle butts: Jersey and Tilly. Also, by her sister-in-law Tess Jones, her brother Paul, sister-in-law, Cheri and many other family members, honorary children and grandchildren. Sam was preceded in death by her father, Larry Jones and her brother, Jeff Jones. Sam graduated from Tipton High School. She worked at Lear Corporation for more than 40 years and the last few years at University of Iowa Healthcare. Sam was a kind, caring soul with wonderful sense of humor. Her children, grandchildren, wiggle butts and family were her love and life. She had an awesome talent for crafting; she could visualize things and bring them to life beautifully. Sam was quite famous for her delicious cheesecakes! She enjoyed gardening and plants also. Though her light was burnt out too soon, it will continue to burn bright in those who truly love her. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 7 pm Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Private graveside services will be held on Friday in Fort Dodge.
