Emmett and I met about 80 years ago at the house his parents were building on Leavitt. We were confirmed together with Gene Noonan and the three of us were fast friends. Every year he called me on my birthday, and I always called him on July 4. I figured we had come to the end of a lifelong friendship when I did not receive his call on my birthday and when I called him and his birthday and his phone was not connected any more. One of the great characters in my life. I wish I could have been there when he passed. Goodbye old friend. Say hello to Gene and all the nunse that trained us at CtheK.

Mr. Whealan lived a life of special mightiness. He will always be remembered and no doubt loved. May we all be there when he comes to see the earth the way God meant it to be.
