David Hastings Obituary

David Allan Hastings, 79, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025.

Born on November 18, 1945, in Huntington, NY, David was the son of the late Dorothea Dawson Hastings and the late George M. Hastings.

David enlisted in the US Navy, June, 1965. He made the Navy his lifelong career as chef and pastry chef retiring as Senior Chief Petty Officer. Later, David earned his Bachelor of Science degree and worked for the VA in counseling. Later in David's career, David and his wife, Judy, were property managers for the Holiday Retirement, Inc. in both Savannah, GA and Charleston, SC until their retirement in 2009.

In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his wife, Judith Hastings.

David is survived by his sister, Gail M. Lopez.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at First Christian Church, 1293 Orange Grove Road, Charleston, SC 29407.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: First Christian Church, 1293 Orange Grove Road, Charleston, SC 29407.
