Lawrence Edward Waugh Jr., commonly known as Larry, age 77, formerly of McDonough, Georgia passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024, in Cookeville, Tennessee. He was born on September 23, 1947, in Ronceverte, West Virginia; the son of the late Lawrence Edward Waugh and Martha Virginia Polly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Lou Waugh; a daughter, Melissa Ann Waugh; and a great-granddaughter, Isabella Olivia Tant.
He is survived by his sons, Lance Waugh of Monticello, Paul (Kim) Creasey of McDonough, and Sean (Teresa) Creasey of Florida; granddaughters, Alyssa (Ricky) Tant, Ashley Wallace, Megan (Luke) Francis, and Tatumn Waugh; great grandchildren: Ariel Tant and Brantley Tant; siblings, Patricia Hatmaker, Mary Wooten (Susie), Bill William Spivey; as well as several extended family members.
Larry proudly served his country in the United States Navy and went on to retire from General Motors after a dedicated career. His greatest joy in life was his family; he had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren, whom he cherished deeply.
A graveside service to honor Larry’s life will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, beginning 11:00 AM at Eastlawn Memorial Park, 640 McGarity Road, McDonough, Georgia 30253.
