Bryce Robinson Obituary

Bryce Conrad Robinson

March 7, 1942-September 5, 2024

Bryce Conrad Robinson, 82, of Cedar Falls. passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Unity Point Allen Hospital in Waterloo after a brief illness. Bryce was born March 7, 1942 in Holton, KS, the son of George and Mary Yoder Robinson where he grew up on a farm near Soldier, KS. Bryce married his high school sweetheart, Jeanne Elaine Gilliland, on August 24, 1963 at United Methodist Church in Holton, Kansas.

After graduating from Holton High School in 1960, Bryce attended the University of Kansas where he earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduation in 1965, he and Jeanne moved to Cedar Falls, where he began his 33-year career with John Deere in Waterloo, Iowa, retiring as Manager of Field Test Site Operations. Bryce was a member of St. Timothys United Methodist Church for 60 years, where he served on Trustees and other committees throughout the years.

Bryce demonstrated a quiet strength with how he approached life's challenges. He was always ready to help his children and grandchildren, and so often heard the words "Dad will fix it", and he always did. After designing and helping to build the family home it is still the anchor for all family gatherings. Bryce loved nature and taught his family to enjoy the outdoors. Bryce and Jeanne enjoyed traveling, and New England in the fall was their favorite place to head. Bryce was a true Jayhawk who was especially happy when basketball season arrived. Rock Chalk! He also followed the Kansas City Chiefs, the Green Bay Packers, and Caitlin Clark's remarkable career. However, most of all, he loved watching his children's and grandchildren's games, whatever the sport.

Bryce is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jeanne, and four children, Cameron of Cedar Falls, Kellan (Bob) of Milwaukee, WI, Blake (Stacy) of Cedar Falls, Megan (Jake) Witt of Cedar Falls; and seven precious grandchildren, Remy Schoepp (Hunter) of LaCrosse, WI, Paige Robinson of Monona, WI; Natalie, Caroline and Everett Witt, all of Cedar Falls; and Aubrey and Luke Robinson of Cedar Falls; and sisters Jean Robinson and Lucy Schmidt, of Hays KS, and Gerri (Mike) Carlisle of Lawrence, KS, and brother-in-law Larry Bowser of Topeka, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Robinson, sisters Ann Tregellas and Alice Bowser, and brother-in-law, Dennis Schmidt.

Private family services are being planned for a later date. Memorials may be directed to St. Timothys United Methodist Church (3220 Terrace Dr. Cedar Falls, IA 50613) or to the Friends of Hartman Reserve Endowment Fund at the following website: (https://www.cfneia.org/giving/find-a-fund/70)

We met Bryce & Jeanne several years ago through genealogy research on Ancestry and found we had a common ancestor. When we met in person, we found we had so much in common. Our conversations were filled with so much fun and laughter. It was such a privilege to know them and to have them as our good friends. Bryce is so very much missed!

Bryce and Jeanne were the first ones to welcome us to the neighborhood. We've enjoy going out for breakfast or dinner and had some great times with them both for 9 years. Condolences to their family and may happier memories sustain you during this difficult time. Be well, Steve and Theresa Sullivan
