No matter how much time passes, my memories of Trudy, her warmth, compassion and innate goodness do not fade. She's one of a very select group of people whose time among us was on a higher plane. She is, in a word, unforgettable.

Time has not dimmed the wonderful memories my triplets (now age 23) and I have of Trudy. She was a remarkable human being and an object lesson in how to accomplish a life well-lived. Trudy, You'll be remembered with love by all whose lives you've touched. Philip Kane

I tried numerous times and no answer. Today I had the courage to look up obituary's abd saw the posting. My heart goes out to her family and friends. She was a joy to know and we shared the process of weight loss surgery and the ups and downs. We had other commonalities in people and places. She was a gift to everyone she interacted with. Will see you on the other side. Be at peace, breathing with ease. Honored to call her my friend.

A year and a half later, my three children and I still think about her and miss her. Trudy helped form who these now 22- year olds have become today and I'm forever grateful. She is a Saint.

I just learned of Trudy's passing. She helped to raise my three children from the first days of their lives. We later all went on day trips together to the farm of close friends of hers in Lancaster. She also often babysat the kids, always bringing games and crafts, never just idly sitting there. Beyond these facts, though, lay the everlasting gifts of Trudy's abiding love, warmth, compassion and deep sense of responsibility and commitment. She cherished the children and checked in on them (and me) regularly over the years. An unforgettable woman, she was remarkable in her ability to nourish people to their cores. Reading the comments you folks have contributed has provided an even greater sense of admiration for her. Trudy, Thank You for being part of our lives... God bless you.

A very kind soul who taught many a nurse and resident in the ICU at SCHC. I expect heaven is rejoicing with the arrival of this special angel.

So sorry for her families loss. I learned so much from Trudy as a young nurse at St. Christophers Hospital. She was an amazing nurse and one of the kindest and most compassionate people I’ve ever known. Rest In Peace Trudy you have certainly earned it. ❤

I´m saddened that this service is scheduled on this date, as I am unable to be present. Trudy so faithfully cared for my little girl and surely so many other dear needy children. Trudy will forever be in my heart and I look forward to seeing her again. She is with the One who saved her, whom she loved and served. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.

I tried to call Trudy many times, and got no answer, so I just assumed her phone was out. I just heard of her passing, and am so very sorry. We spoke occcassionally, and we have been friends for year and years. So very sorry. Please keep me posted on a memorial service. She would not believe so many people cared for her.

Today would have been Trudy's 75th birthday. As I think of her today, I am remembering just how important she was to our family. She was involved in all the good times, the weddings, births and numerous celebrations, helping to plan most of the parties. She was also there for the sad times when we lost a family member or someone was sick. I miss all my conversations with her, which were several each week. She was such a involved and caring sister and aunt to my family. She always remembered everyone's birthday and she sent cards and letters to mark all the special occasions. I still can't believe that we can't chat anymore. Trudy you are loved and missed and I hope you are resting peacefully.

Aunt Trudy was always there for me and thinking of me as I traveled and navigated my confusing 20s. I will miss our chats on the phone and her adorable cards that she was always sending (even though I had some trouble reading them!) Aunt Trudy was the most loving, caring, selfless, kind woman who always had a baby sleeping on her chest in my memories. She was an integral part of our Swansen family gatherings in the summers and she will be dearly missed.

Aunt Trudy,
I can’t begin to fathom how many lives your caring heart and hands reached during your lifetime. For as long as I can remember, you were always showing up to family gatherings with news about the children you’d been taking care of recently, talk about events you’d supported in your community, or memories of all the crazy things we’d get away with as kids (despite your watchful eye being present at each and every family gathering). That picture someone uploaded of all of us with you crowded around your birthday cake says it all. You truly embodied Christ’s heart for children. You were firm with us, and being the cheeky kids that we were, we sometimes begrudged that (though we laugh now), but behind that unyielding exterior there was a depth of caring that can’t be put into words. We saw it when we were young, and understood its depth even better the older we got.

Thank you for your presence in our lives, your selfless care of others, and for living a life of service for which I know you have been told “Well Done”.

Looking forward to the next warm hug from you.

I remember Trudy's loud, projecting voice, her infectious laughter, and longtime friendship with my mother over several decades. She had a caring servant's heart and volunteered to be at CHOP when I had a childhood surgery. Trudy was often in charge of Children's Church at Diamond Street Mennonite Church in the 1970s and shared Bible stories and songs with us. She also led the children's Christmas play over several years, of which I can vividly recall my part and line to this day! I also remember the fun food and pool parties at her parents' Ambler home that she hosted during the Summer months several decades ago. She will not be forgotten.

Trudy, I miss our conversations and your intelligent advice. The times we tried to play "Thelma and Louise" will stay with me for quite some time. As I think of you my heart is sad. I know you are at peace and probably in that "Size 10" now. I am sure Lolla is just as sad. She was your special friend and Lily will miss chasing her. My heartfelt sadness goes to all those lives who you have touched and changed because of the kind friend you were and confidant. You will always be in each of us in a unique way and will not be forgotten.
Thank you for being such a wonderful person and friend!!

But most of all I will miss our conversations My phone is quiet now. Tom also will miss you. So now you took the best road trip ever!! Right to heaven!!! I will miss you terrible!! Liz
