Raymond Puffer Obituary
Raymond "Bill" William Puffer, age 90, of Princeton, MN died at Saint Cloud VA Community Care Center September 5, 2024.
Bill was born July 22, 1934 in Minneapolis, MN to Harold and Lillian (Fisler) Puffer. He attended school in Minneapolis until 10th grade, later getting his GED. Bill served his country during the Korean Conflict. He also attended Professional Adjusters School. On November 22, 1980, he married Terri Pike.
He worked many years as an insurance adjuster for Crum & Forester, Farm Bureau and Viking Adjusting. In the early 1970's, Bill owned and operated Puffer's Conoco Gas Station and Dry Cleaners. Bill and Terri owned and operated a locksmith company for several years in Princeton.
Bill was a member of Zimmerman American Legion, Princeton VFW, Masonic Lodge #92, Princeton, MN Order of Easter Star, Honorable Order of Blue Goose.
He enjoyed time spent with his children, grandchildren and the last 5 years with nephew, Brock. Before COVID, his meetings for breakfast with friends at Burger King were a highlight. He liked watching Mash, Gunsmoke and wrestling on TV. He enjoyed music, fishing, Cushman Scooters, motorcycling, traveling. He rode his Cushman scooter to the top of Pike's Peak and made two trips to Washington state on his motorcycle. He was a people person and enjoyed visiting with others.
Bill is survived by his wife of 43 years, Terri; children: Cindy Femling of Hastings, MN, Roger (Sami) of Lakeland, FL, Michael (Melanie) of Princeton, Terri Lynn (Chad) Burrell of Cottage Grove, MN, Camilla (Jason) Oakes of Perham, MN and Kelly John (Kristin) of Princeton. He had 20 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild due in January of 2025. He is also survived by his brother, John (Joyce) of Anoka; sister, Sharon Renken of Minneapolis; mother-in-law, Lorraine Pike; brother-in-law, Joel Pike and Joel's son Brock of Princeton and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Harold; parents, Harold (Irene) Puffer and Lillian (Russ) Liestman; brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Donna); brother-in-law, Rich Renken; son-in-law, Frank Femling; and father-in-law, John Pike.
A Celebration of Life will be held September 25, 2024 at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 610 1st St., Princeton with visitation from 2-4 p.m. and service at 4 p.m.
