IIo Spears Obituary

Ilo Mae Spears, 86 of Sharpsville died peacefully at her residence Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024. She was born in Plymouth, Indiana on May 12, 1938 to Ruben and Bernice (Spaid) Shively. Ilo married her soul mate, Freddie Nelson Spears on Aug. 19, 1962. They enjoyed nearly 60 years of marriage as he died on Jan. 9, 2022.
Ilo was a 1956 graduate of LaPaz High School and a 1960 and 1964 graduate of Indiana State Teachers College. She taught school for several years as well as being a homemaker, a farmer's wife and keeping the books for the farm. She was a lifetime member of the Home Economics Club and belonged to the American Bell Association International, Inc.
Survivors include two sons, William and wife Bonnie Spears of Sharpsville and Michael Spears of Tipton. She has a granddaughter, Skyler Wyrick and husband Tyler, a great grandson Oliver Wyrick and a great granddaughter Ember Wyrick.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie and a still born daughter Lory Lynn.
According to Ilo's wishes, there will not be any visitation or funeral services. A private burial will take place at Sharpsville Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Sharpsville Ambulance Service or Fire Department, 158 W. Vine Street, Sharpsville, Indiana, 46068.
Young-Nichols Funeral Home is honored to assist the Spears family in their time of need.
