MARION - Ruth E. Macier, 99, of Marion, passed away peacefully at 3:45 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2025, in Reflections Memory Care of Herrin.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Marion.
She is survived by her sons, William G. Macier of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Gary M. Macier of Haddonfield, New Jersey, John S. Macier of Marion, Jeff L. Macier of San Marcos, Florida, and Phillip G. Macier of West Frankfort; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Austin and Lyda Jeane (Lambert) Kegley; husband of 50 years, William C. "Bill" Macier; two granddaughters; six brothers and three sister.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 North Court Street, Marion, IL.
Friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 11, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 600 North Russell Street, Marion. Following the time of visitation, at 10:30 a.m. the Rosary will be prayed at the church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the Rosary at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Brian Barker celebrating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorial donations may be sent to be directed to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available during the visitation or donations may be mailed c/o Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 N. Court St., Marion, IL 62959.
