JONESBORO - Gary "Mike" Hinson, of Jonesboro, passed away on March 27, 2025. He was born on Aug. 26, 1951, in Leachville, to the late William Troy and Jesteene Hinson.
Mike was a devoted member of Walnut Street Baptist Church, where he found great joy in being part of his beloved Sunday school family and church community. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and later worked for Jonesboro School District as a paraprofessional and school bus driver. Mike loved the outdoors and being out in the "wildlife". He especially loved camping with his children, fishing, traveling, and road-tripping with his family. His happiest moments were spent surrounded by loved ones, making memories, hosting gatherings, and sharing laughter. Whether watching TV or sitting by a campfire.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Dewayne and Lavon Hinson; and his sisters, Wanda (Charles) McCrackin and Peggy Hinson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Hinson; his son, Casey (Mary) Hinson; his daughters, Candace and Delecea Hinson; his brother, Rick (Susan) Hinson; his sister, Brenda (Cecil) Gulley; his sisters-in-law, Sheila Hinson and Deborah McEntire. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Seth Hinson, Sean Hinson, LaReina (Miguel) Herrera, Lydia Askland, Chloe Gamber, Cesceli Gamber, Keira Coram, Devin Melech, and Curtis Orr. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and a lifetime of friends.
A service celebrating Mike's life will be held on Wednesday, April 2, at Emerson Funeral Home at 2 p.m., with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. Brother Grey Falanga will officiate. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are; David Hinson, Wes Hinson, Terry Hinson, Charlie Hinson, Tony McCrackin, Kenneth Gulley, Brad Hinson, Scott Hinson, and Ronnie Hinson. Honorary pallbearers include; Mike's Walnut Street Baptist Church Sunday School Class, the Looking Forward Ministry, and Jim and Jeannie Gillis.
