Carolyn E. Rivenburgh, 77, of North Syracuse, N.Y., and formerly of Thompson, died Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse. She was the widow of Thomas A. Rivenburgh, who died in 2022.
Born in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late William D. and Elizabeth Mills Geesey. Carolyn was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale. She had been employed by the International Correspondence School, Scranton.
Carolyn was an active member of the Band Boosters at Susquehanna School District. She enjoyed bingo and was known for her outstanding needlework. She enjoyed hunting and fishing with her husband.
Surviving are two children, Linda Taylor and husband, Allen, North Syracuse, N.Y., with whom she resided; and Thomas Rivenburgh Jr. and wife, Joanne, New Milford; four grandchildren, Kathryn Buckley, Kyle Rivenburgh, Chole Randall, Charlie Randall; a great-grandson, Calum Mueller; two brothers and a sister; nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Oliver Shifler & Scotchlas/Joseph W. Scotchlas Funeral Home Inc., 621 Main St., Simpson.
