Madolyn Paul Obituary

Madolyn I. Paul, 102, of Bloomville, formerly of Sherburne, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home on Saturday, May 27, 2023. She was born on February 22, 1921, in Andes, a daughter of the late Dan and Nancy (Humphrey) Butler. She was a graduate of Walton High School. On April 22, 1939, in West Warren PA., Madolyn married Theodore F. Goedel. He predeceased her in 1973. She later married Robert C. Paul on December 29, 1983, in Sherburne. He predeceased her in 1989.

Madolyn worked with Theodore on the family farm until 1977. While living in Sherburne, she would attend the United Church of Christ.

Madolyn is survived by three daughters; Rosemary (Raymond) Stewart of Bovina Center, Ann Tompkins (Edwin) of Gilboa, Bonnie Goedel of Bloomville, four sons; Theodore (Victoria) Goedel of Delhi, William Goedel (Hazel), of Oneonta, Henry (Arlene) Goedel, of Otego, Ralph (Faith) Goedel of Sherburne, stepchildren; Alfred (Donna) Paul of North Norwich, Doris Miller and Teddi (Frank) Nellis, both of  FL., and Betty, of  PA., a daughter-in-law, Anita Goedel, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter Beth Goedel, a son Edward Goedel and three brothers, Maynard, Edward and Arnold Butler, and a sister, Arlene Butler.

Friends and family are invited and may call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne, NY 13460, on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 11-12 noon, prior to the service at noon. Interment in the West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne, will follow.
