KINGSPORT - Wanda McClure Ragsdale, age 83, of Kingsport, went home to the waiting arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, September 23, 2023. She was a member of Bloomingdale Baptist Church in Kingsport and was a loyal and faithful prayer warrior for her Lord. She was a retiree of Eastman Chemical Company where she worked as a security officer. Most of all she was a loving wife, mother and great aunt to all of her loved ones. She was known for saying "I love you and I always will."
She was preceded in death by her late husband of 67 years, Jack Ragsdale; parents, Clay and Pearl McClure; and special friend, Fred Butterfield.
She is survived by her son, Bruce Ragsdale; daughter, Joyce Skelton (Wes); special cousins, Devota Joyce Gaddy and Patty Morgan; special caregiver, Vondi Harris; and a host of extended family and friends.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff of NHC Healthcare for their love and support for Wanda.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm with Pastor Wade Childress officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Gardens.
