Dorothy LaBombard Obituary

LaBombard, Dorothy
COHOES - Dorothy A. LaBombard of Cohoes, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, peacefully with her family by her side. Born in Troy, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Francis (Frank) and Helen Hickey. Dot graduated from Catholic Central High School and attended Mildred Elly School in Albany. She retired from the City of Cohoes Department of Public Works and later continued working in several area Real Estate Closing offices.
Dot loved traveling with her late husband, Mick, watching football, Friday nights with friends, but most of all spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She held a special relationship with each one of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was our ride or die, we could call her at any time to go with us anywhere, she would cover for us, she would support us, she would help us solve any issue. She will be missed beyond measure.
Dot is survived by her children, Susan and John Whynot of Texas, Robert "Bobby Jack" LaBombard of Troy, Debbie and Tom Jacques of Cohoes, and Matthew and Kathleen LaBombard of Cohoes. Her brother, John "Jack" Hickey of Florida; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Michael G. LaBombard (Diane) of Troy; and her brothers, Robert Hickey, and Frank Hickey.
Her family would like to sincerely thank the staff at the Cohoes Eddy Village Green Building 1 for their excellent care for Dot.
Relative and friend are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Thursday, January 18, at Holy Trinity Church, at 10:30 a.m. Her interment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery.

I am overwhelmed by the loss of my aunt Dottie. She married my uncle Mickey and became a member of the LaBombard Clan. She would always say how grateful she was to be in our family, but we were the lucky ones. Dot made a big impression on all those she came to know. I was one of those who benefited from having her in my life! Thank you my dear aunt for your love and care to me & my girls! Marianne, Tara & Lani (Bradd).
