CLIFTON PARK - Mrs. Grace Francis Mall passed away on September 24, 2023.
She was born in Sargodha, Pakistan on July 15, 1937, to Baroo Francis and Nawab Bibi. She was the second of four children. She has one older sister, Mrs. Mariam Awan, and two younger brothers, Mr. Shafqat Pervaz and Mr. Qumar Shahzad.
Mrs. Grace completed her nursing school in Hyderabad. In 1966, she married Mr. Manzoor Mall with whom she has five children, Nabila, Naveed, Tony, Shaneela, and Reena.
In 1977, she and her family migrated to Albany, where she immediately found employment at Albany Medical Center to support her family. She was ambitious and hardworking for her entire life. While working the night shift full-time, she studied to obtain her L.P.N. license and supported her husband in getting his engineering degree. Over time, she went on to support her five children through college and then marriage.
She loved knitting, crocheting, reading, old Indian movies with "singing and dancing," and taking care of her husband and family. She always sacrificed her needs for the good of her family. Instead of spending on herself, she would save for her children.
She was a devoted Christian. Every day, she made time to read the Bible and thank the Lord. Her strong faith was evident even when she was diagnosed with cancer and when she had a stroke. With the help of the Almighty, she managed to pull through both.
Mrs. Grace will be remembered as a kind-hearted, caring, and loving wife, mother, sister, and friend who always wore a beautiful smile even when times were tough. She had a quiet strength. She never complained and always thanked God for everything.
She is survived by her husband, Mr. Manzoor, her sister, five children, and 11 grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, October 1, from 3-6 p.m. at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany. The funeral will be held on Monday, October 2, at 10 a.m. in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 85 Elm Ave., Delmar.
