VOORHEESVILLE - Joseph E. Russo, IV passed from this life unexpectedly on September 29, 2023 at the age of 32 years.
Joseph, the much-loved son of Elaine Russo of Albany, was born in Brookhaven, N.Y. on April 10, 1991. He was the firstborn grandchild to his maternal grandparents, Grace Miata (late Arnold Pinckney) and the late Joseph Miata, and paternal grandparents, the late Joseph E. Russo, Jr. and Ethel Russo.
Joseph's formative years were spent on Long Island and in Albany. He was educated at Bethlehem High School and later furthered his educational studies at Hudson Valley Community College, initially, in electrical engineering technology but later pursuing a career in cyber security. At the time of his passing, he was taking online courses from Excelsior University in pursuit of that career.
Joseph loved his family and they were the focus of his life. His dog Drizzt was his companion and best friend. His hobbies were like those of many his age and he loved gaming and racing cars, motorcycles and quads. He enjoyed reading science fiction and fantasy novels and listening to music which varied from classical to rap. Joseph's spirituality, although private, was founded in his bible. A friend to many, he will be missed by those whose hearts and lives he touched.
In addition to his mother and grandmother, Joseph is survived by his father, Joseph E. Russo, III; his aunt, Lisa (Paul) Henn, and their children; his cousins, Emma, Thomas and Jacob Henn; his great aunts and uncles, Michele Corso, Jane (David) Johannesen and Marianne (Robert) Johannesen; his second cousins, Eric (Courtney) Johannesen, Christopher (Nicole) Johannesen and Alissa Johannesen. He will be especially missed by his friends Jennifer Hewes, James Schultz, Crystal Clink, and Michael Anthony.
Friends are invited to visit with Joseph's family at Parker Brothers Memorial, 2013 Broadway in Watervliet on Sunday from 1 until 3 p.m. The afternoon will conclude with a celebration of his life and a sharing of memories starting at 3 p.m.
