I was a neighbor and friend to Patricia and her family since about the mid eighties. I remember watching her with Devon as a toddler wobbling on the sidewalk of Greenway South. There were many outings together with our families on Lake George while camping, boating, or chilling out at our tiny cabin. She, like I, loved the lake, loved the water. Devon and my two sons attended the same school and I watched our kids grow from babies to young men. She struggled with her MS and I struggled with my Lyme Disease. She always had a listening ear; we could share our feelings, be they good or bad. Patricia was always the one to call me, to send a note, to remember my birthday. She was a classy lady (a former hippie too). I miss her. I miss her a bunch. I learned of Patricia's passing from my son Matthew on the day after Thanksgiving and was shocked, and oh so saddened. I was the one who called her when last we spoke, she living in NY, I living 11 years now in Florida. The last words she said to me before hanging up the phone were "call me more often". Lesson learned Patricia; I can't call you anymore, but I'll try to be a better friend to the few friends I have, none of which have the history, the memories, as old and deep and cherished as we had. Every once in a while she would pop a photo she'd found in the mail to me. Thoughtful. To Joe and Devon I say: she will always be on my mind and in my heart and you both will be there too. Dear Joe, Devon, Mary Anne, Kathy and family, I am so sorry for your loss. My memories of Patricia go back 40 -50 years ago, coming in from a run or work, always making something healthy to eat. She always seemed to live life with a purpose. May all your good memories of her carry you through this time of grief. My sincere condolences to all of you.
