I met Pete in 1977 at the OMEA competition. He was a great guy, always a leader and so sweet. My deepest condolences to his brothers, Tim and Greg, and to the entire Bender family.

My condolences to the Bender Family. I am very saddened to learn of his passing. I got to know Pete through the Boy Scouts and our fun adventures in Scouts. We learned we both worked at the University of Cincinnati and had laughs discussing our tribulations. Pete always made me feel very welcome. My prayers to all.

Pete was a friend. I think back to when I started at our college as a part-time faculty member and later as a nervous full-timer, and some of my initial memories are chatting with Pete. He made you feel like you'd known each other forever--so easy to talk to, so kind, so comfortable to be with. Over the years, I'd see him so often and again, encountering him was like coming home in a way, because he put you so at ease. I want to express my condolences to his family, who were the joy of his life (he spoke of them often, and he lit up like a flash bulb when he did!), and thank them for sharing him with those of us at his work. Pete was a truly special soul and one we will miss terribly.

Pete knew no strangers. I associate him with celebration and gathering--he was there with his camera, capturing the moments while being such an important part of the moments. Like taking off a hat yet feeling as if it's still on your head, it still feels like Pete is somewhere here looking for the best light to capture our moments.

It was a tough blow to learn of Pete's passing. What a tremendous colleague to have all those years at UC Blue Ash. I will continue to miss our craft beer hallway chats!

Even though I worked at a "sibling rivalry" college (UC-Clermont), Pete always supported our Digital Media program. When I was studying for my Masters degree in the mid-1990s, I did a one-quarter internship at UCBA. I worked on a few video projects with Pete as a mentor, and he taught me a lot about video production. I was very surprised to see his obituary. He left us far too soon.

I graduated with Pete from Moeller High in 1978. He was a fellow band member of mine. We also hung out together quite a bit playing pool and hanging out in a Milford radio station where he work. He was a joy to be with and very genuine.

Peter was a wonderful colleague at UC Blue Ash. I recall our friendly chats whenever we ran into each at the college. His love for his family was always such a big part of our conversations as we exchanged notes. He was excited about his retirement and plans for the brewery when we last chatted. He will be missed for the joy he brought with his ready smile and the friendliness he extended to everyone. I am so glad I got to work with him and know him. My heartfelt condolences to the family.

I am so saddened to hear of Pete's passing. He was such a caring member of UCBA. He was always so kind and giving of his time and always had a smile to share. We had many talks about his brewing and we recently shared pictures of bumblebees we took just a few days ago. I will cherish this among other memories. I extend my deepest condolenses to the family.

Pete was such a wonderful and caring co-worker at UC Blue Ash. Honestly, everyone loved him!! I especially appreciated his positivity and the adoration that he expressed about his family. He would just beam when talking about his grandchildren. I am so grateful to have had the privilege to spend time with him. He will be missed greatly here on Earth, but I'm sure God has big plans for him above.

I’ve known Pete for more than 20+ years from UC Blue Ash and Good Shepherd Church. Pete was kind, friendly, and helpful. My most recent memories were eating with him and his family at this year’s Fish Fry, talking about his retirement, and tapping me on the shoulder during sack luncheons for the homeless to say hello. Pete, thank you for the wonderful memories. You will be missed!
