It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Elizabeth Klopmeier, who died peacefully on September 21, 2025 at the age of 98.
Jean was the beloved wife of the late Robert F. Klopmeier, with whom she shared 57 years of marriage. She was a devoted mother to Janet (Tom) Scheren and Marsha (Stephen) Tufft, a proud grandmother to Steve (Brittany) Scheren, and a cherished great-grandmother to Mason, Dutch, Finn, and Kody Scheren.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jean studied journalism at The Ohio State University before marrying Bob and dedicating herself to raising their daughters. She was known for her strong faith, resourcefulness, and skill as a master budgeter. Jean delighted in planning memorable family vacations, serving as a Girl Scout leader, and playing bridge.
When her youngest daughter, Marsha, started college, Jean returned to the workforce to help with tuition. After working as a temp, she secured a permanent role at General Electric Aircraft Engines in Evendale, Ohio, where she worked as a secretary for 15 years before retiring.
A long-time member of Grace Bible Presbyterian Church in Sharonville, Ohio, Jean moved to Virginia in early 2021 to live with Janet when she could no longer live independently. Her deep love for family and unwavering faith were the cornerstones of her life, and she will be remembered for her determination and devotion to those she loved.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, October 3, at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, 10211 Plainfield Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45241, beginning at 10:00 a.m., with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating Jean’s remarkable life.

Jean - Known to me as Mrs. Klopmeier as a youth at Grace Bible Presbyterian Church along with her late husband
Robert were faith-filled members who were known for their years of friendship and fellowship with the Keenager Sunday School classes. Both Jean and Robert loved the church family. Jean was a devoted servant by giving of her time and talents to benefit our women ministries and congregational dinners. As Grace Bible Presbyterian Church prepares for its 60th Anniversary and as I look back at our church history, both Jean and Robert were instrumental in providing new resources to furnish our new church sanctuary as well as help us to preserve our past church history through their generosity in restoring our historic baptismal font, communion table and choir director stand that is still in use today. But what I remember most about Jean is her elegant manner, kind spirit and love to reach out to others no matter the age. I remember so well her taking time after a busy Sunday service to stop and chat with a shy teenager who was admiring the beautiful roses that had just been planted at the church. She gave me gentle "garden advise" on how to see their beauty and to care for them. The "original" roses are long gone now, but the memory of that Sunday afternoon has lived on as I work to keep the "new roses" going at the church. Thank you Jean for the wonderful memories of friendship, service and taking time to share your wisdom and a bit of yourself with a young, aspiring gardener so long ago. May we meet again in God's heavenly garden.
