November 18, 1941 - January 8, 2025

Timmie LaFosh Dew, born November 18, 1941, died January 8, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Denise (Weaver); daughters, Tamara Dew, Tracy (Joe) Settelmeyer; son-in-law, Matthew Mallendick; grandchildren, Hilary (Andy Aldrich) Settelmeyer, Melissa (Forrest) Wagner, Olivia Mallendick, Emily Mallendick, and Maxwell Mallendick; great-grandchildren, Sofia Wagner and James Settelmeyer; siblings, Linda and Merrill "Bo" Bodine, Doris and Donald Brushaber, Linda and Gary Tucker; also, many nieces and nephews. Tim was predeceased by his daughter, Tara Mallendick; parents, Timmie P. and Kathleen M. Dew.

Tim's first love in life was his family; family vacations, camping, fishing, get-togethers, cookouts, and living everyday life to name but a few family favorite activities. Tim served his community and his nation via six years in the Ohio National Guard, achieving the rank of First Lieutenant before being honorably discharged, numerous Committees at Trilby United Methodist Church, Lambertville United Methodist Church, and a Member of the United Methodist Conference, past President of Washington Local Board of Education, and a Master Mason. Tim built a successful steel company, of which he was Owner and President for 35 years before retiring.

The last five years of Tim's life he was attended by his loving wife, daughters, and grandchildren as he was stolen away by Alzheimer's. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you consider making a donation to the Alzheimer's Association Northwest Ohio Chapter or Heartland Hospice of Southeast Michigan.

I am so sorry. All I have are wonderful memories of The Toledo Dew´s. All the picnics & occasional Sunday get togethers. It was the very best family to grow up in. I will always remember Tim as the oldest & more like another big brother than a cousin. My prayers are with you all.
Love, Debbie

I met Mr Dew, and his family. Back in my senior year of high school. When he was president of the school board. More recently, meeting him. As a greeter and usher. At Lambertville United Methodist church. To me he was always a man of strength and integrity. My heart felt condolences. To his family. It was an honor knowing him.

Denise, Bo and Linda.. i´m so sorry to hear about tim. I know we lost touch over the years, but I´ve never forgotten the times that we sang together and served on various committees at Trilby. I´m sure he will be missed by everyone and linda I know you were in Florida and just down the road for me, but I could never find you. I was at Lilly Lake golf resort. God bless you all.
