Cynthia Ann Kroeger was born August 2, 1947, in Independence, Iowa, the daughter of Bernard S. & Mae Lillian (Dennie) Kroeger. She grew up on the family farm that was located north of Quasqueton, Iowa. Cindy was a 1965 graduate of East Buchanan Community Schools in Winthrop and attended Broadlawns School of Nursing in Des Moines, Iowa. On June 3, 1978, Cindy was united in marriage to Edward Radigan in Chicago, Illinois. One of Cindy’s dreams was to own a restaurant, which came true in 1998 when she moved back to Iowa to open “The Palms” in Independence. She successfully ran the restaurant for several years but ultimately her family’s plans changed, she sold the business, and returned to Chicago. In Chicago she continued in the food business working in the corporate office at Maggiano’s, Little Italy.
A special place in Cindy’s heart was her church, Union Avenue United Methodist Church. She dedicated many hours from handling the church financials, to working with the food bank, fundraisers, and serving on the board. The church was her second family.
Cindy is survived by her Husband: Ed of Chicago, Illinois; Daughter: Andrea (Manny) Hernandez of Chicago, Illinois; Granddaughter: Mia Hernandez of Chicago, Illinois; Sister: Sandra (Mike) McKeon of Rock Hill, South Carolina; 2 Nephews: Sean (Becca) McKeon of Jupiter, Florida & Colin (Jill) McKeon of Greensville, South Carolina and 2 Step-Daughters: Cindy Wilson of Rosemont, Illinois & Kelly Drehobl of Scottsdale, Arizona.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents.

Cindy and I worked together at FH Prince years ago. She hosted a lovely wedding shower for me at her home. I always felt Cindy was a very special person. Ed and Andrea I am so sorry.

I knew Cindy when we were younger. My parents, Bud and Marian Hare, and her parents were good friends. I ate at her restaurant when she was in Independence -enjoyed seeing her again after so many years. My deepest sympathy to her family. My husband recently passed away and know how hard it is to loose someone you love.
