Donald Lauer Obituary

Donald Carl Lauer, 86, of Gibsonia, formerly Sistersville, WV, on July 25, 2024. Born in Irwin, on April 2, 1938, son of the late Carl Lauer and Sarah Elizabeth Loughner Lauer. Beloved husband, of the late Rebecca Henderson. Loving father, of Natasha Lauer, Henri-Alexandre Lauer (Edithanne), and Shane Lauer (Vicki). Dear grandfather, of Kathryn Rose, Nicholas, Ryan, and Sabrina. Also survived by one great-granddaughter, Georgia Rose; and one brother Bruce. Donald spent his adult career with Monongahela Power Company and retired as Control Room Foreman at Willow Island power station located near Belmont, WV. In his retirement he enjoyed gardening and taking road trips with his grandchildren. He was a repository of infinite knowledge and his children will miss having the opportunity of calling him at all times of the day to answer life's important questions ('How long do you cook corn in the microwave' or 'what type of light switch do I need') Services will be private.
