Joan Yuhas Obituary

Joan M. (Danko) Yuhas, 91, of North Huntingdon, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2022, in Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. Joan was born Jan. 22, 1931, in North Braddock, a daughter of the late John A. and Mary (Tkach) Danko. She was also predeceased by her husband, Charles A. Yuhas; and siblings, John Danko Jr. and Marie McCutcheon. Joan was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church where she was an organist/music director and a member of the Christian Mothers. Joan was a graduate of Seton Hill College with an associate degree in liturgical music. Surviving are her four sons, Michael (Cia), of Colorado, Vincent, of Ellicott City, Md., Philip (Carrie), of Orange, Calif., and Martin (Kimberly) Yuhas, of North Huntingdon; siblings, Dee Fazio (Bob Tach), of Pittsburgh, and Richard (Sue) Danko, of Ohio; grandchildren, Ken (Marshawn), Pamela, Hope (Yuhas) Guzewicz (Blake) and Maggie (Yuhas) Gillespie (Matt); and great-grandchildren, Cole, Jonas and Milena. She is also survived by nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., 805 Pennsylvania Ave., Irwin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, North Huntingdon. Parting prayers will be held at 9 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.
