Kathy Baum Obituary

Kathy Jo Baum (ne Hill), 74, of Loyalhanna, passed away Aug. 30, 2024. Kathy was a graduate of Derry Area High School and Seton Hill University, Greensburg. Kathy spent her career at the Borough of Latrobe municipal office and Kennametal Inc., retiring as a human resources professional. Through the years, Kathy sang in choir, played handbells, enjoyed fitness groups, and was a member of a ladies book club. She enjoyed lunching with girlfriends and dinner out with other couples, often several times a week. Kathy traveled extensively throughout the United States and internationally, although her favorite destination was always Hawaii. With anyone she met, she loved talking about her girls, her grandkids, and her cat. Kathy is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 54 years, David Baum of Loyalhanna; daughters, Darla Tomlinson (Greg) of Henderson, NV, and Jennifer Faris (Jim) of Osseo, MN; and stepson, Chris Baum (Joanne) of Derry, PA; grandchildren, Jake, Abby, Ryan, Jack, and Jude; and great-granddaughter, Rayne. She is also survived by beloved niece, Elizabeth Musi and family; sister-in-law, Janice Mania (John); and numerous dear friends. She will be dearly missed by her cat, Buddy; and all who knew her.
