Paul H. Collins, 92, of Scottdale passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 10, 2025, at his home. Paul was born on Feb. 1, 1932, in Connellsville, a son of the late Paul W. and Clara Catherine (Oakes) Collins. He married Ardith J. (Hough) Collins on June 10, 1955. Paul was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a graduate of the former Scottdale High School, class of 1950, where he participated in the school's baseball team, receiving many awards! It was the start of his love for sports, including the Pirates and Steelers games. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict, serving as a gunnery sergeant in the US Army's Mike Company, 23rd Regiment's 2nd Division. He was awarded the United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, and the Army Good Conduct Medal. After an honorable discharge, he was employed at General Motors Fisher Body Division for 2 years and then worked at the former Allied Mills/Continental Grain in Everson, retiring after 34 years of service. He was a longtime member of the Tetelestai Church in New Kensington. An avid hunter and sportsman, he enjoyed his cabin in Potter County with family and friends. His storytelling was always present, no matter what the conversation. Paul loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. His memories will remain in their hearts forever! My deepest sympathy and love to you Ardith and kids. Paul was one of the dearest friends we have had in our lives. You will all be covered in prayer to continue on in his temporary absence!

To Stan, Jeff, Kevin, Pam and Lisa;
“When Parents die nothing is the same anymore. We can no longer be children, we will no longer feel carried away by their hugs, kisses and words of encouragement. It seems like life is getting harder because their protective love is no longer there. When parents are no longer with us, we are orphans and that is hard regardless of age. Even though you created your family, the face of your parents is ingrained in you for eternity. All people, even if we are adults, have this living child inside us who wants to be protected all the time by his parents. Turning to their unconditional love whenever necessary, but when they are gone, that option is no longer possible.”

Know that you had the great benefit of being raised by a great father, a priceless gift of immeasurable worth!! I love you all dearly!
