Sharon Munson Obituary

Sharon Lee (Larson) Munson, 68, of Penn Township, passed away on the evening of Sunday, Oct. 29, 2023, in her home. She was born July 9, 1955, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late George and Esther (Peterson) Larson. Upon graduating from Slippery Rock in 1977, Sharon married her college sweetheart and became a devoted stay-at-home mother and child care provider until beginning Y-Tots, the preschool program at the Wilmerding YMCA, where she impacted hundreds of lives with her compassion, gentleness and creativity for more than 20 years. Additionally, for 10 summers she also managed a youth day camp in Turtle Creek, where she passionately mentored students who needed a second mother. After retirement, Sharon enjoyed cricuting and embroidering, spending time with loved ones, vacationing on Hilton Head Island, S.C., cuddling with her grand-dogs, babysitting her treasured granddaughter and worshiping the Lord until He took her home to Heaven. Anyone who knew Sharon would agree she was the kindest soul who had the most positive outlook on life. Sharon is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, Greg; loving children, Jeremy (wife Amanda) Munson and Kristin (husband Chris) Ferruchie; cherished granddaughter, Davina Calla Ferruchie; and niece and nephew, Tammy and Robbie. In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her sister and brother, Sandy and Donny Larson. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023, at LINDSAY-JOBE FUNERAL HOME INC., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City, 724-744-2721, where a service celebrating Sharon's life will be held at noon Friday, Nov. 3, 2023. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park in Delmont. Sharon's family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and techs at Forbes Hospital and the nurses and staff of AHN Hospice for the wonderful and compassionate care given. Memorial contributions may be made, if desired, to AHN Cancer Institute at Forbes. online condolences can be given at www.Lindsay-JobeFuneralHome.com.

Our deepest sympathy to Sharon´s family. She was honestly the sweetest, soft spoken lady that I knew. She loved everyone, especially her family. She was so excited to be a grandma. She will be missed by all. May she rest in peace!
