Evan Reese Obituary
Born on June 8, 1951, in New Kensington, he was the son of the late Evan F. Reese and Ruth E. (Palmer) Marriott.
Evan enjoyed a long and accomplished career in the nuclear industry, working primarily at power plants and decommissioning sites. In the later years of his career, he co-founded Laundry Time LLC with his wife and served as the owner/operator of three locations. Growing his business allowed him to leave behind extensive travel and spend more time with his family, which he cherished deeply.
He was a proud member of the Apollo Elks Lodge #386.
An avid outdoorsman, Evan had a lifelong love of hunting, especially deer hunting, and relished being in the woods. He was also a devoted Pittsburgh sports fan and enjoyed tackling a variety of home improvement projects. Above all, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, particularly his granddaughter Lilly, whose presence always brightened his days.
In addition to his parents, Evan was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Beverley S. Vogel-Reese, and his grandparents, Clifford and Ruth Palmer.
He is survived by his son, Evan D. Reese (Kaitlyn) of Mount Joy, PA; his granddaughter, Lillian F. Reese; his brothers, David, Daniel, Nelson, and James Reese, all of Derry, PA, Patrick Reese of Henderson, NV; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Jason Losier. Interment will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park in Delmont.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Evan's honor to the Hillman Cancer Center, UPMC Cancer Pavilion, Suite 1, 5150 Centre Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15232.
