Ronald Mascolo Obituary

Ronald J. "Pup" Mascolo, 81, of Unity Township, passed away on Monday, Oct. 13, 2025, at Independence Health System Westmoreland Hospital. Born May 6, 1944, in Greensburg, he was the son of the late Roland and Dora (Dominick) Mascolo. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at SuperValu. As his daughters were growing up, Ronald had been their softball coach for Lincoln Heights. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Montana and Myrtle Beach, and loved attending his grandchildren's events. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Zachary Colucci; and a son-in-law, Mark Tryon. Ronald is survived by his wife of 62 years, Catherine A. (Douds) Mascolo of Greensburg; two daughters, Kelly A. Tryon of Greensburg and Becky L. Colucci and her husband, Michael, of Greensburg; one sister, Andrea J. Mascolo (Bobby Booley) of Grapeville; five grandchildren, Dylan Colucci (Amanda), Brett Tryon (Savannah), Kaitlin Truxal (Nicholas), Breanna Tryon (J.R. Moore), and Mitchell Tryon; and six great-grandsons, Fisher, Bennett, Tripp, Zachary, Jackson, and Jett. Family and friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025, at LOPATICH-BRINKER FUNERAL HOME LLC, 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 17, 2025, at St. Benedict Church, Marguerite. Everyone is asked to please go directly to church. Interment is private.
