Paul Linkes Obituary

Paul 'Pauncho' Linkes, 69, of North Apollo, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 19, 2025, in the QLS West Haven, Apollo. Born Jan. 20, 1956, in Pittsburgh, he is the son of the late Paul and Helen Minarcin Linkes. A graduate of Clarion University, he had been employed by numerous companies throughout the area as a senior sales consultant. Paul was a member of St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Vandergrift, where in the past he was an altar boy. He was a member of the Apollo Elks, the Lithuanian Club in East Vandergrift, and the Bari Club in Vandergrift. For activities he enjoyed golfing, baseball, playing softball for various teams, and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Diana L. Matarrese Linkes of North Apollo; son, Jason (Diana Vecellio) Shilling of Gilpin Township; two brothers, Larry Linkes and John (Carol) Linkes, both of Leechburg; along with sisters and brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Gibbon; and two sisters-in-law, Debbie and Susan Linkes. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2025, in the DUNMIRE-KERR AND ROWE FUNERAL HOME INC., 244 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift. The parting transfer prayer will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2025, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, 303 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift, with Fr. Alan N. Polczynski as celebrant. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Apollo.
