Richard Magda Obituary

Richard J. "Dick" Magda, 84, of Stahlstown, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024, at his home. He was born Oct. 16, 1940, in Mammoth the son of the late Joseph and Sophia Retisthak Magda. Dick was a graduate of the former Hurst High School in Mt. Pleasant Township. Prior to his retirement, he was the owner/operator of Magda Auto Service in Unity Township. He was a member of St. Raymond of the Mountains R.C. Church in Donegal. Dick loved the outdoors and like to hunt and fish. He will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by his family, his stepchildren, Joyce Kolb and husband Gerry of Lockport, NY, and Michael Yost of El Cajon, CA., his six step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; and his brother, Leonard Magda and wife, Patricia of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to his parents, Dick was predeceased by his wife, Gladys L. Harman Magda; and his stepson, James Yost. Family and friends will be received, Friday, Oct. 25, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the hour of a Funeral Service, in the MARK C. BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., at the corner of Route 711 and 146 Municipal Building Road, Melcroft, (724-455-2310), with Pastor Keith Deckinger officiating. A Committal Service and interment will follow in the Porch Cemetery, Donegal Township. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Porch Cemetery, c/o Jackie S.
