Susan Roe Obituary

Susan Campbell Roe

Born: April 4, 1947 | Died: December 23, 2025

Susan Campbell Roe, 78, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025. Born on April 4, 1947, she lived a full and loving life devoted to her family, her students, and her community.

A proud graduate of Bearden High School, she went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Tennessee. She began her career as an elementary school teacher, where her warmth and creativity inspired countless young minds. In 1974, after becoming a mother for the second time, she embraced her most cherished role - that of mom - a calling she fulfilled with grace, patience, and boundless love.

Later in life, while living in Exeter, New Hampshire, she found success and joy in a second career in real estate. Upon returning home to Maryville, she enjoyed a well-deserved retirement filled with family, quilting, crafting, all University of Tennessee sports and the simple pleasures of home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Marjorie Campbell. She is survived by her loving family: her son, K.C. Whitlow and his wife Sheila, and their daughters Jamie, Emily, and Kelly; her daughter, Jennifer Roe Horton and her sons, Ryan and Owen; her son, Jason Roe and his wife, Andrea Nelson; and her sister, Sally Campbell and her son, William Head. She will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, and the deep love she shared with all who knew her.

A private family service will be held to celebrate her life at the Berry Highland Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, January 5, 2026.
