Richard Rohne Obituary

Waseca, Minnesota - RICHARD MARTIG ROHNE, age 81 of Waseca, died Friday, January 3, 2025, at the Mapleton Community Home in Mapleton.

He was born on September 21, 1943, in Minneapolis. He was the son of Orville D. and Viola E. (Martig) Rohne. Richard served in the United States Navy from 1962-1968. Following his release from service, he attended the Colorado Barber College. He also attended Faith Bible College, Southern Baptist Seminary, and the Evangelical Church Alliance. He was the Proprietor of Northside Barber Shop on State Street. He also served as a guest speaker alongside many pastors and enjoyed spending a few years driving school buses for Clemons Bus Line and Palmer Bus Service. On March 15, 1980, he married Patricia Irene Crandell in Minneapolis. Richard was a member of a bowling league, enjoyed Taekwondo and was also part of Gideons International. He was a member of Christ Community Church.

He is survived by his daughters, Danella (Steve) Daniels and Holly Rohne; three grandchildren, Chelsey, Shaye, Dylan; six great-grandchildren, Chloe, Kaylee, Jameson, Ila, Liam, Dakotah, and his niece, Beth Gregerson and her family. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his sister Barbara Ann Hier.

Interment will be held, Friday, January 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis where military honors will be accorded. Funeral service will be held, Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Christ Community Church in Waseca, with Pastor Rick Wulf officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
