DAVID HUTCHISON Obituary

DAVID HUTCHISON David Alan Hutchison, aka Thunder Dave, Big Dave, Poppa, and Dad, passed away on June 24th, 2023. He was 71 years old. He was born in Gainesville, Texas, on March 5th, 1952. David met Becky Prachyl in 1976, and the two were married on November 24th, 1978. This year would have been their 45th wedding anniversary. As a master electrician, David co-owned a successful electrical contracting company for 25 years until his retirement in 2019. He was an accomplished bass guitarist and felt at home on the stage sharing his gift with others. Music was his true life's passion. David was the current Worshipful Master at Waxahachie Masonic Lodge No. 90 and would have completed his one year term in July. He loved the fraternity and worked hard to raise money for scholarships for local students. He thoroughly enjoyed the relationships he built as a result of being a Master Mason. David was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed hitting the lake with his grandson, and fishing buddy, Gavin. He also enjoyed photography, and taking landscape photos during his many cross-country RV trips with Becky, Doug and Carol. David is survived by his wife Becky, daughter Rachel McElrath and son-in-law Blake McElrath, daughter Jullie Stroope, and daughter Katie Hutchison. Grandchildren Gavin Stroope, Betty McElrath and Miles McElrath, brother Doug Hutchison and Carol, Aunt Jane Alexander, and mother-in-law Betty Prachyl. David was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Ann Hutchison, and father, Roy David Hutchison. His celebration of life took place at Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie on July 03, 2023.
