Eleanor Sharon Little

WATERLOO - Eleanor Sharon Little, 85, of Waterloo, passed away Sunday, June 23 at her home.
Sharon was born on August 17, 1938 in Fairfield, the daughter of Harry and Elizabeth (Hoadley) Russell. She married Larry Leo Little on December 26, 1959 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fairfield. He preceded her in death on April 11, 1987.
After completing nursing school in Ottumwa, she worked many years as a registered nurse at Allen Hospital in Pediatrics, Country View, and most recently at Black Hawk-Grundy Mental Health Center until retiring in 2012. She was a prominent member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a member of Catholic Charismatic Movement with her husband, and a liturgist for the NEET program. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, writing poetry, and watching Westerns. Sharon was an epic fan of Elvis, and she loved all poppy flowers and dogs.
She is survived by: three sons: William Brian (Tina) Little of Pearland, Texas, Robert (Deb) Little of Tripoli, and Patrick Little of Janesville; her daughter-in-law, Laura Little of Waterloo; twelve grandchildren: Lucille Mezzacappa, Duncan, Sean Carl, Braden Little, Kaitlin and Allison Little, Billy and Austin Little, Eric, and Jake Meron, and Krystal Little; and four great-grandchildren: Lucas, Jessica, and Alex Meron, and Myah Fischels.
Preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; three children: Jeffrey, David (Laura), and Melanie Little; a grandchild, Brad Meron; and her brother, Dennis Russell.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m. Thursday, June 27, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with burial at Garden of Memories. Public visitation will be from 4 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, with a vigil starting at 6 p.m. at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street. Visitation also one hour prior to the Mass at the church. The Mass will be live streamed at www.queenofpeaceparish.net.
Memorials may be directed to the family or to the John Ritter Foundation.
